John Kiskinis Honored at Miami Auto Show

MIAMI BEACH -- John Kiskinis, president at Kiskinis Communications, was named the recipient of the annual Terry Jackson Memorial Award presented by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA) on November 7th during the opening festivities of the Miami International Auto Show.

The award is named for the late South Florida auto journalist and honors a SAMA member for outstanding service to the organization and for contributions to the auto industry in South Florida.

"John was a founding member of the organization in 2007 and has provided invaluable assistance during the years to further the auto industry in South Florida," said Paul Borden, SAMA Vice President.

Kiskinis, whose agency has provided marketing and media relations counsel to the Miami International Auto Show since 1990, has helped to create such popular auto show exhibits as Havana Classics, Topless in Miami and Cars Meet Art, which debuted at this year’s auto show.

The Terry Jackson Award is named for the late auto journalist who was a nationally known figure and also a founding member of SAMA. He succumbed to cancer in January 2009.

"Having worked closely with Terry for many years, it is especially gratifying to receive an award that bears his name," Kiskinis said.

Previous recipients of the award were Marcello Serrato, president and founder of Prestige Auto Specialists; Rick Baker, president of the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association; and noted automotive journalists Jose "Pepe" Delfino, Paul Borden and Ron Beasley.
